Nammal Namukkāyi
Coming together to build a resilient Kerala
- The floods of 2018 and 2019 have caused considerable damage to Kerala. The Rebuild Kerala Initiative (RKI) under the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Kerala has been instrumental in speeding up the post-flood reconstruction programs and in achieving the Government's goal of Navakeralam.
- People from across the world stood with us during the flood. The people are the real strength of our land. Now the discussion needs to be focused on what can be done to prevent future disasters. Studies indicate that Kerala is vulnerable to 39 hazards, the major ones being floods and landslides. Through this website, you can submit your opinions on what can be done to prevent future hazards.
- The experiences shared, the ideas generated, and the suggestions provided by the people of Kerala through the Nammal Namukkāyi program will be processed to prepare approach papers, facilitate international deliberations, and draft policies and legislations. The opinions gathered from this will definitely help to fulfil the government's goal of rebuilding Kerala better than it was in the past.
