Nammal Namukkayi
Chief Minister Shri Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated Nammal Namukkayi web portal seeking public opinion on the construction of Nava Keralam in his chamber. The public has the opinion of posting comments on the website www.rebuild.kerala.gov.in. The Chief Minister requested that everyone use this chance to upload the valuable comments for build a viable Kerala.
Business Conclave-ASCEND-2020
At the Global Investor Meet held in Kochi, an investment promise of more than one trillion rupees was received.Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan explained that the total investment amount of Rs 98,708 crore is the culmination of Rs 32,008 crore from various sessions including Kerala Infrastructure Management Limited along with the Rs 66, 700 crore promised by Abu Dhabi Investment Authority.
Considering the promise by two persons who were not able to participate in the Ascent, the investment promise would be over one lakh crore. A team led Dr. K. Ellangovan IAS, Principal Secretary (Industries & Commerce) will meet and discuss with them directly. The CM also said that a special Conference will be held for foreign investors.
Student Leader's Conclave
Hon. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan held discussions with the university and college student union leaders to get to know the new generation's views and opinions for the future development of the state. The discussion was held at the Chief Minister's Student Leaders Conclave held at Farooq College Auditorium, Kozhikode.
Technical Session- Rebuild Kerala
A two-day workshop of technical experts on post flood reconstruction programmes of Kerala as part of Nammal Nammakayi campaign was held in Thiruvananthapuram.
Nammal Namukkayi-People Participatory programme
In response to the 2018 floods, the Government of Kerala initiated the Rebuild Kerala Development Programme (RKDP) under the Rebuild Kerala Initiative (RKI), which focuses on building a "Resilient Kerala" by supporting key sectoral departments of the government align their development and planning process to a collective objective of building a more resilient state.
The reoccurring floods of 2019 provided the State with a window of opportunity to reflect on its approach towards rebuilding resilience against hazards. It was realized that the rebuilding efforts shall remain incomplete without the involvement of the community that faces the brunt of these disasters year after year.
Local Self Governments Representatives meeting
Those who live there know best about their homeland. Therefore, there is a need to formulate a regional framework to build the new Kerala. The village / ward meetings are a good place for discussions. It was decided to discuss the disaster prevention activities in the area while preparing the annual plan for the local government. As part of this, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the State meet of the Local Authorities at Thiruvananthapuram.
The CM requested everyone to prepare the annual plan with detailed discussions with the participation of people from all walks of life. It is noteworthy that for the first time in the history of the GramaSabha, the annual disaster management plan is being discussed. Local bodies have been provided with a detailed example of what needs to be done. KILA (Kerala Institute of Local Administration) has implemented a program to train 20 persons in each ward. In February, 26,000 village councils are joining the state.
World Kerala Council Intervention of Global Kerala - Discussion
Revenue Minister E Chandrasekharan said that the role of the diaspora community in the post- flood reconstruction process is as important as the relief and rehabilitation of the flood victims. The minister was addressing the seminar held as part of the Lok Sabha. Non-resident Keralites did a great part in helping the flood victims and in persuading foreign governments to do so. In the case of the construction of New Kerala, the cooperation of the expatriates must be very effective. The experiences and technical knowledge of the expatriates will be helpful in taking precautions to prevent future disasters and in applying rebuilding techniques that will enable them to survive disasters. It receives the opinions and suggestions of people from the grassroots level, from the disaster management experts.
